Geographic Information Systems Day

Dear Graduate Students,

The University of Notre Dame’s Center for Research Computing (CRC) will host a half-day GIS workshop on Friday, November 20 from 1-5p.m. in room 107 of the Hesburgh Library, the auditorium. Details are available at the right margin of our main web page: http://crc.nd.edu/

Our keynote speaker for the conference is Mr. Paul Collins (CEO, Skyline Software Systems, Virginia, and ND alumnus). We have speakers lined up from private, local government and federal government sectors. We would like to encourage speakers from the academic sector as well. We have slots still available for those who wish to present a 15-20 minute talk (1-5pm) or a poster during our poster session (5-6pm). The link above includes information on how to register for the event. If you are interested in presenting, please send me the title of your presentation on or before October 20, 2009.

If you are unable to attend this event at Notre Dame, but know of colleagues who may be interested, please forward this announcement to them. Contact information is included at the above referenced link in case you have any questions. In case you care to post our flyer, I have attached that as well.

As the web page states, our goal is to build a community of interest around an already active group of researchers working with geospatial information.

If you are interested in getting announcements about geospatial workshops, training sessions, seminars and monthly user meetings please subscribe to the GIS list serve. http://crcmedia.hpcc.nd.edu/wiki/index.php/GIS_listserve_instructions

Geography matters,
Sincerely,
